St. Cloud is happy to welcome back Maestro Andrew Altenbach, former conductor of the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra. Altenbach, who now is the Music Director of Opera at Boston Conservatory and is quickly becoming one of the world’s most sought-after conductors, founded the Minnesota Bach Ensemble before leaving Minnesota in 2012. The MBE is a professional chamber orchestra dedicated to performing the music of the Baroque era, and J.S. Bach in particular. The ensemble explores other composers of the Baroque and early Classical periods yet always returns to the intense beauty, emotionalism, and inspiration of J.S. Bach. Today’s program will include works by Marcello, Fasch, J.S.Bach, Graun and Vivaldi.
