You are invited to our Department of Music Scholarship Fundraiser Gala Event at 7:30pm on Saturday, April 16th in the Kimberly A. Ritsche Auditorium located in Stewart Hall. Celebrations 2016 embraces the outstanding accomplishments of our students and faculty, and honors the lasting partnerships created by our generous scholarship donors, alumni, and faculty emeriti.

Musical highlights for the program include SCSU alumnus SSG. Alicia Eisenstadt performing the Kennan Sonata for Trumpet with the Wind Ensemble, SCSU cello faculty Dr. Joel Salvo performing with the Percussion Ensemble, and a mass collaboration between the Concert Choir, Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Percussion Ensemble performing popular selections from Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana with SCSU voice faculty Dr. Catherine Verrilli as soprano soloist.

The program will also honor the accomplishments of retiring faculty Dr. Richard Hansen and Dr. Joseph Edelheit. “Rik” Hansen was Director of Bands from 1983-2012 and a published historian, and Joseph Edelheit is a dear friend of the Music Department and a central figure in organizing an amazing tour of Europe in 2008 featuring a performance of Stephen Paulus’ Holocaust oratorio To Be Certain of the Dawn at the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp.

Purchase general admission tickets online at, or at the door on the evening of the concert.

    Tickets: General Admission - $20
    * all ticket proceeds directly benefit music scholarships at SCSU.
