Join California Award Winning Artist and Instructor, Gloria Crane, as she teaches you how to create this stunning gourd!

This a great class for both newbies and experience gourders. Students will learn the basics of power carving, including sand ripples, stippling, simple pierced filigree and inlaying stones. Gloria will be discussing different carving burrs and their uses and the importance safety when using your carver. GourdMaster ink dye will be used to add color to the body of the gourd and then the ripples will be painted with Easy Two-Step Patina to give your finished project the WOW factor.

Required Materials: a heat dryer, rotary tool with flexible shaft, (such as a Dremel), bring any carving burrs you have in your tool box including, an inverted cone, carbide pointed burr and drum sanders. Small hand tools and files are helpful but not necessary. Also bring a good dust mask or respirator & comfy chair. This is a very dusty class so wear grubby clothes or bring an apron.
