Be a part of a living legacy! Create a tile to be a part of a community mural. Workshops are free and open to individuals who have a close connection to disability. Participants will be asked to respond to the questions of, "What does Access to the Arts mean to you?" Artwork created at these workshops will be a part of an eventful mural that will be on display through the Paramount Visual Arts Center in October 2013.

People with disabilities and those who have had experience with disability through family, friends, coworkers, etc., are encourage to participate in these workshops.

Drawing, painting, and decoupaging on 12" square masonite-board tiles. Materials provided. Please wear protective clothing, as some material will stain clothing. You are also encouraged to bring xerox or laster print copies (not inkjet prints - they fade) of your own photos, and your own original drawings or poems to decoupage onto your tile. Please note that artwork created will be kept for display with the mural - so you will not be able to get your tile back.

Workshops will be scheduled to take place from June 15 through August 31 and will be offered during day and evening times.?If you are interested in attending a workshop or in being a volunteer for the project you should contact Sheri Pfau 320-230-9412 or Stacey O'Connell 320-420-8124.

This project, funded with a grant from the Arts Access* program administered by the Minnesota State Arts Board, will involve participants from both the St. Cloud and the Twin Cities area in art-making workshops.

This project will be conducted by VSA Minnesota with the inspiration and help from a number of lead artists with disabilities from around the state! Char Coal is the project’s Curator. She is joined by Stacey O’Connell and Sheri Pfau from St. Cloud and Christi Furnas, Mark Davison, Tara Innmon and Deb Costandine from the Twin Cities. Dozens of volunteers will be recruited to assist with the over 60 workshops during which the visual artwork and stories will be created to be used in the eventual mural exhibit.
