When the Diotima appeared here in 2010 they gave such a riveting performance of Janacek's first quartet that we had to immediately invite them back to play the second. Their performance here also led to a commission for a new work for quartet plus viola by composer Richard Lavenda; we will be privileged to hear this composition prior to its official premiere.
