    Christopher Atkins, director of Minnesota Artist Exhibition Program (MAEP) of the Minneapolis Institute of Art, will discuss best practices in the arts, as well as the MAEP program’s selection and curatorial process. Chris will be both specific about how to submit a proposal to MAEP as well as some general best practices for artist statements, resumes, and images. He will talk about the panel/proposal review process: what artists should think about when they are drafting their artist statement, how to research venues and look through their exhibition history, basic do’s & don’ts, more about the curator/artist relationship, and how an exhibition develops over the span of a year.

    Allen Brewer, 2013 MAEP artist, will join Christopher Atkins in this discussion, sharing his experience in presenting his creative ideas, and executing his ambitious proposal!
