Join the Minnesota Center Chorale for its annual Cabaret dinner and concert, featuring a multi-course gourmet dinner, silent auction and festive holiday concert. The Silent Auction and Social Hour begin at 5:30 p.m., with musical entertainment provided by talented MCC soloists and small groups. With a new format this year, the dinner will begin at 6:15p.m., followed by the full choir performing at 7:00pm. We welcome special guests, Bethlehem/Suzuki Chamber Orchestra, performing with the choir during the concert. A post-concert reception with ports and sherry wines and an assortment of holiday cookies will be held in the Alumni Lounge.

    Program Details:
The concert features an a cappella performance of “All On a Starry Night” by Joseph Graham. Also included in the program are two premiere carol arrangements by MCC singers and composers, Keith Larson and Roger Towler. The choir invites the audience to join them for several sing along carols, including Irving Berlin’s beloved “White Christmas”, a lushly orchestrated arrangement of “Silent Night” by Hal Hopson and carols from “The Many Moods of Christmas” arranged by Robert Shaw and Robert Bennett. Also presented are a Nigerian Carol, “Bethelehemu” arranged by Barrington Brooks, “All the World is Winter” by Ruth Elaine Schram and Celsie Staggers, and a medley of favorites called “Yule Be Swingin’” arranged by Mac Huff, including “Let it Snow!”, and others. The concert concludes with a few of the most loved choruses from Handel’s Messiah, accompanied by Bethlehem/Suzuki Chamber Orchestra, including the majestic “Hallelujah Chorus”.
